COVID-19: Due to the skyrocketing COVID-19 cases in the area, Starlight has decided to temporarily suspend in-person rehearsals and productions for the time being. Our next production at Starlight is twice as much fun! The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will have TWO casts, one teen and one adult. An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.

Starlight continues our 2020-21 Season with STAR STARS: THE FRANCHISE AWAKENS written by Dean O'Carroll.  The show is directed by Eric Gibson and Nena Rippenkroeger. All COVID safety precautions will be in place for both rehearsals and performances.

Long, long ago, in a theater near you, there was a saga that thrilled generations of moviegoers - but then the dark time came, and the prequels depressed the galaxy. Now a brave band of heroes on a quest to make new Star Stars movies must battle the sinister First Chapter, and the only ones who can help are the heroes of the original trilogy. Can an enthusiastic fangirl, a reformed Scooper Trooper, and a highly marketable robot awaken the power of the Franchise? A loving, loopy parody of fandom and a certain space adventure.
