On Saturday, December 22, 2018, we will be holding a holiday fundraiser for both Foothills Food Bank and the theater. The fundraiser will include a stage reading of “The Santa Method”, an original musical that was showcased in June 2017 and was written by Starlight’s own Thomas Graca. The readings will take place at 7 PM.
For this holiday fundraiser, admission starts at $10 for the show and audiences are encouraged to bring either canned food, diapers or grocery store gift cards. As a local 501C3, the proceeds of the show will go towards future productions and resources for the theater. All canned foods, diapers and grocery store gift cards will go to Foothills Food Bank.
The Santa Method follows Fred Shelton, an actor who returns to his hometown and agrees to save the day by being the star in their Christmas play. However, the town soon finds out that Fred's approach to playing Santa Claus will challenge everyone in town. With each of the town’s actors involved in their own drama, it will take more than a Christmas miracle to make this Holiday Season successful.
“Bringing back The Santa Method for this fundraiser is such a great opportunity for Starlight and Foothills Food Bank,” says Raquel Jarvill, President Starlight Community Theater, “We invite everyone in the community to come out and not only enjoy a great musical but to help some great causes as well.”
