The Cast

Josh Hengst (Count Dracula) is excited to entertain and possibly scare the audience as Count Dracula. He has performed in many virtual shows during quarantine. In person, he was recently in Annie (Ensemble) and Damn Yankees (Joe Hardy), both at Desert Stages Theater. Josh wants to thank the Phoenix theater community for coming together right now and to his family for their continued support.

Rudy Bogojevich (Jonathan Harker/Arthur Holmwood) is extremely excited to be a part of the Dracula cast. This will be his first production with Starlight. He attended PVCC and SCC where he majored in Fine Arts- Vocal Performance/Opera from 2011-2014. He is now a Sr. Sales Specialist for Farmers Insurance. Previous roles: Rocky in Damn Yankees with Desert Stages, Tobias in Sweeney Todd with ProMusica Arizona Choir, and has been in multiple Scottsdale Musical Theater Company productions. He is very excited for future Starlight productions. Rudy would like to thank his parents Mark & Juanita, his sister Gaby, his in-laws Lisa & Randy, and most importantly his wife Tara, son Orion, and two daughters Athena and Luna. Go Buckeyes!

Christina Robinson (Dr. Petra Seward) is so happy to be back on the real-life stage! Originally from California, she discovered theater after moving to Arizona and has performed in productions across the Valley. Her favorite roles include Prudy Pingleton in Hairspray, Philia in "Forum" and Lola in Damn Yankees. She is grateful for the opportunity to share her passion for theater with her daughter McKenzie. She is thankful for her family and friends who always cheer her on.

Abeth Spencer (Professor Abigail Van Helsing) is thrilled to return to the Starlight stage. But she didn’t remember to write her cast bio because she is very old, so her younger brother wrote it for her....again. She enjoys doing puzzles with her two wonderful children who are both much cooler than she is. Abeth, who never proofreads these things, would like to thank the production team for putting up with someone as annoying as she is.

Megan Gardner (Mina Murray) is excited to be returning to the Starlight stage with this incredible cast and crew! As a high school theater teacher, it’s always fun to get back onstage rather than behind the scenes. Some of Megan’s recent credits include Annie in Annie Get Your Gun, Leanne in Desert Stages’ Puffs, and Lisa in Starlight’s Mamma Mia. Thank you to the entire cast and production team for putting this spooky, cooky show together!


Nicky Thompson (Lucy Westerna) is excited to have her return to the stage since 2017 with Starlight Community Theater. Nicky is normally behind the scenes for shows, and is the resident Stage Manager for Phoenix Youth Theatre and was recently nominated for costume design for Annie Jr with NYA. Nicky is also the Company Manager for Virtual Theatre of Arizona. Nicky spends most of her time running lights for Medieval Times Dinner and Joust. Nicky’s last stage appearance was in 2017 before the birth of her daughter in Disneyland's Flashback Cast Member Show. She has also been a part of Under The Bed as Pirate Monkey, Fangirl as Sheila and more.

Bear Golden (Mr. Renfield) is excited to be performing with his friends and his mother in his third Starlight show. He has been seen in Starlight's productions of Annie and The Pajama Game as well as around the valley in shows like Brelby Theater Company's Carrie The Musical, Desert Stages Theater's Puffs (Zoni Nom), Limelight's Radium Girls and Shrek the Musical (NYA Nom), and many other shows! "Thank you so much for coming to our show and supporting the arts during this difficult time. It means the world to all of us."

Lynn Golden (Henrietta Westerna) Dracula is Lynn’s third Starlight production (previously seen in Annie and The Pajama Game). Other shows include Damn Yankees, A Murder is Announced, Oliver!, Spamalot, Nuncrackers, and Moon Over Buffalo (DST). By day Lynn is a Grant Specialist at ASU. Thank you for helping to keep theatre ALIVE!,  and your constant love and support. “Stage Kisses” to my personal squad - Bear, Abby, Brad, Momma, Roxie, the Ashlocks, Heather, Kristi, Ted, Amie and Eric. Congrats Ric and Sandi!

Susan Gibson (Martha Westerna) is excited to be in this production. She was last seen in Starlight Community Theater's Murder in the Heir and serves as the Vice President on Starlight’s Board of Directors. She would like to thank Ric, Sandi and Stephanie for supporting her in this role. She also would like to thank her understanding husband, Eric.

 

Scott Sims (Charles) is no stranger to Starlight having appeared in Annie, Four Weddings and An Elvis, Mamma Mia!, Company, The Curious Savage and Curtains. He has been musical director for Bye, Bye Birdie!, Cinderella, Wheres Charley?, It’s A Bird...Plane...Superman, and more! Scott directs choirs at Deer Valley High School, Glendale, and leads the praise band at Living Water Lutheran Church. He thanks his fiancée, Debbi, for encouraging him to be on stage again.

Alex Fausett (Bride of Dracula/Asylum Worker) is very grateful for the opportunity to play a vampire bride in Starlight’s Dracula! Alex has been in other plays and musicals and played characters such as Roz (9 to 5), Mrs. Trent (Murder's in the Heir) and Penny Fadson in her first virtual show (Objection! Disorder in the Court) She would like to thank her directors Ric and Sandi for putting their trust in her. Thank you, and enjoy the show!

Sofia Hoover (Bride of Dracula/Asylum Worker) is a high school senior at North Pointe Preparatory where she just performed as the role of Snout in A Midsummer Nights Dream. Sofia is excited to be making her debut at Starlight Community Theater as one of Dracula’s brides. Sofia has had a great time doing this show and is happy that she could meet new people and make friends along the way.

​

McKenzie Jessen (Bride of Dracula/Asylum Worker) was last seen on SCT’s stage as Irene Rudolf & Katherine Wiley in Radium Girls. Her favorite roles include “Ali” in Mamma Mia and Wanelle Williams in Farce of Nature (NYA and AriZoni nominee). She is a 2020 graduate from Sandra Day O'Connor high school where she was on the leadership board for Freshman Mentors. She is currently a freshman at Scottsdale Community College. McKenzie is thankful for her fan club of family and friends that always support her endeavors.

 

Isabel Ramirez (Bride of Dracula/Asylum Worker) is a Senior at Sandra Day O’Connor High School where she participates in the theater program. Isabel also attends Dearing Acting Studio where she performs in the Adult Masters Program and the Impov Program. She also serves as an Intern at the Studio. As one of Dracula’s Brides, this is Isabel’s first acting role at the Starlight. She is very excited for this opportunity and has enjoyed the experience.

The Production Crew

Ric Alpers (Director) has been involved in theater for 50 years. With a background in Children’s Theater, he has worked for The California Young People’s Theatre, Phoenix Little Theater’s Cookie Company, and ASU’s Imagination Corporation. He spent 29 years with the Paradise Valley School District as Auditorium Manager. He is a Zoni nominated Director and Designer and an NYA winning Director. He has also cleaned quite a few theater bathrooms.

​

Stephanie Cartwright (Stage Manager) Dracula is Stephanie’s second production with Starlight Community Theater. Previous credits include Production Manager for She Kills Monsters (Mesa Encore Theatre), Assistant Director & Stage Manager for Blithe Spirit (Don Bluth Front Row Theatre), and Stage Manager for Four Weddings and an Elvis (Starlight), Dixie Swim Club (Desert Stages), and Miss Nelson is Missing (Limelight Youth Theatre), among others. Stephanie would like to thank Ric Alpers for the opportunity to be part of Dracula, and the cast for all their hard work.

Heather Riddle (Costume/Hair/Make-up Design) is a stay-at-home mom of 5, wife, part time nurse, piano teacher and business owner. She has performed in six shows here at Starlight and has costume designed for even more. Heather is thankful to the production team and cast for this opportunity and is grateful for her extremely supportive husband who encourages her and is her #1 fan.

Christian Graca (Light Design) has volunteered with Starlight Community Theater since 2006 in many capacities including directing multiple award winning and nominated shows including You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Seussical the Musical, Into the Woods, Oliver! and How to Succeed in Business….She is also an award-nominated designer for Velveteen Rabbit. She hopes you enjoy the show.

Thomas Graca (Sound Design) has been involved in theater since 2006 and as either a musician, AriZoni award winning designer, actor, singer or AriZoni award nominated playwright/composer. He is currently writing an original series, "The Corny and Bright Show" and his next original musical, Shambles. Thomas welcomes this chance to return to work with Ric Alpers, the production team, and cast. Enjoy the show.

Jonah Cain (Light Tech) is an eighth grader at Highland Lakes and is thrilled to be a part of Dracula at Starlight Community Theater as a techie! Previous tech credits include running crew for Four Weddings and An Elvis, Annie, and Frozen. He would like to thank director Ric Alpers for letting him join the Dracula family.

Oakley Rinehart (Sound Tech) is a multi-theater award nominee who has decided to step off the stage, take it back to tech this time and work up in the booth for the first time. He's been involved with Starlight for about 2 years and has been involved with shows such as Annie Get Your Gun and Avenue Q. Oakley hopes the sound is on cue and hopes you enjoy the show.
